Francisco C. "Frankie" Carranza

Francisco C. “Frankie” Carranza, 43, of Friona, Texas, died on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church with Reverend Anthony Swamy Aakula, pastor. Burial followed in Friona Cemetery under the direction of Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona, Texas.

Frankie was born on October 4, 1971 in Weslaco, Texas to Juan and Juanita (Camacho) Carranza. He graduated from Mercedes High School in 1994. He enjoyed dancing, sports, especially bowling and basketball, and watching movies. He was a member of the Special Olympics and St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

Frankie is survived by three brothers, Doroteo Carranza and wife, Tomasa, Santos Carranza and wife, Margarita, and Pedro Carranza all of Friona, TX; and two sisters, Romana Balli and husband, Paulino of Friona, TX, and Eva Lopez and husband Frank of Grand Prairie, TX.

Charles Edward Teague

Charles Edward Teague, 76, of Bovina, Texas passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 in Friona, Texas. All arrangements were under the direction of Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Charles was born on September 11, 1938 in Street, Maryland to Grant and Martha Doyle Teague. He graduated from Hartford High School in Maryland in 1956. Charles joined the United States Air Force where he was an aircraft mechanic from 1956-1960. After his Air Force service, he went to work in Friona at the Friona Glass Shop. He then went to work for Bovina ISD as the transportation director for 42 years. Charles enjoyed camping and getting to spend time with his family.

He is preceded in death by by his parents, his wife Molly Teague in February 2004 and his brother Curtis Teague.

Charles is survived by one son, Chuck Teague and his wife Susan of Friona, Texas; three sisters, Shirley Streett of Street, Maryland, Mary Clark of Rockhall, Maryland, Nancy and Mike Dunaway of Street, Maryland; six brothers, Paul and wife Cathy of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, Allen and wife Marty of Titusville, Florida, James Teague of Street, Maryland, Roger Teague and Sam Teague of Whiteford, Maryland, and Grant Teague, Jr. of Dublin, Maryland; two grandchildren Lacy and Matthew Teague of Friona; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elsie "Joe" Buchanan

Joe was called home on Sunday, March 8, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 at Live Oak Community Church in Lubbock, TX.

Joe was born December 21, 1929 in Blue Ridge, Texas. She graduated from North Texas College in 1949 with a degree in Home Economics. She moved to Friona, Texas where she married Billy Gene Buchanan. They farmed from 1950 until 1983. Joe was a Realtor from 1984 until her retirement in 2002.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents Isom and Ruth Boren, and her siblings, Lyle Boren, Floyd Boren, Nannie Lou Rogers, Alberta Williams, Mable Cox and Melva Gene Broom.

She is survived by her three children, Chief Buchanan and his wife Jacquelyn, Mike Buchanan and his wife Cathy, Felisa Carson and her husband John; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
