Wanda Ruth Rogers

Wanda Ruth Rogers, 94, of Friona, died Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Friona. Mausoleum services were held Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo with Rev. Vaughn Gossman, pastor of the Oklahoma Lane Methodist Church, officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.
Wanda was born July 6, 1922 in Dalhart, Texas to Frank Poyntz and Iris Guy Kirk Wilson. She married Roscoe Lee Rogers. She was a former member of the Pink Ladies of BSA Hospital, was a Presbyterian, and loved Popeye’s Fried Chicken. Her passions were having fun with family, and making Montessori toys with her husband.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Frank P. Wilson Jr., Robert E. Wilson, and James E. Wilson; and one nephew, Edward W. Wilson.
Survivors include two nephews, Jim Wilson of Kansas City, MO., and Kregg Wilson of Bovina; and four nieces, Ann Kingsley of Clovis, Candy Dyer of Georgetown, April Gober of Farwell, and Pam McCatrey of Amarillo.

Daniel "Danny" Olivas

Chapel services for Daniel “Danny” Olivas, age 29, of Muleshoe, Texas, were held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ruben Acevedo of Muleshoe officiating. Burial followed in Muleshoe Memorial Park.
Danny died December 10, 2016 in Bailey County. He was born May 8, 1987 in El Paso, Texas to Victor Olivas and Bernadina Sosa.
Danny graduated from Muleshoe High School, and attended Clovis Community College. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan.
Survivors include his significant other, Nicole Fuentes of Muleshoe, Texas; his step-daughter, Allena Hancock of Muleshoe; his mother, Bernadina Sosa of Muleshoe; his two brothers, Victor Olivas, Jr. and Javier Olivas, both of Muleshoe.
