Coach Bryan Masse and the varsity volleyball girls began practice Monday. Sophomore Bailey Pope goes for a kill against senior Kim DeWit’s block. The girls have a couple of tournaments coming up before their first home game August 23.

Town Talk II

Official weather guy John Gurley said we received 1.14” of rain Friday night. Then Tuesday night we added another 1.01” in town. Southeast of town reported over 2”. Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative reported the loss of 7 poles northeast of Hereford Tuesday night and were working to restore power to the area. (more...)

Barber Shop to get historical marker

If your child will be 4-years-old by September 1 or you have a new kindergarten or first grade student registration will be held at the Friona Primary School office on August 4-5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (more...)

Chieftain head coach Jimmy Arias and the Chieftains began practice Monday. They will scrimmage at Abernathy Aug 12 and at Sundown Aug 19. Home opener is Aug 26 vs. Farwell at Chieftain Field. Game time is 7:30 p.m. This first game will also be senior parents night.
