Town Talk II

by Ron Carr

Weather guy John Gurley says the gully-washer we had Tuesday evening amounted to 2.24” in his official rain gauge in Friona. Other reports ranged up to 3-inches. It was still sprinkling and trying to rain when I came to work Wednesday morning. Cooler fall weather is on the way. Let’s be grateful.

Anniversaries to report: Barbara and Jimmy Maynard 59 years on September 5. Rex and Chuck Blackburn 60 years September 8. Casey and Terry Sharrock 23 years on September 6. Very happy wishes to these fine folks.

A prediction: There is no way former governor Rick Perry is going to look good on Dancing With the Stars.

This was a short week with the Labor Day holiday. Then I missed all day Tuesday with appointments and tests at the Cardiology Center in Amarillo. So I worked Wednesday. Nathan and Dana took the brunt of this week’s big Miss Friona and Little Miss paper. Therefore, Town Talk is short and sweet this week. Thanks for being a Star reader. Will try to do better next week. Until then!
