County Livestock Show begins Tuesday

The Parmer County Livestock Show is scheduled to begin Tuesday, January 17 and run through Thursday, January 19 with the premium sale being held on Saturday, January 20.

Steers will be weighed in on Tuesday from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Steer classifications will be made at 9 a.m. and the show will begin at 11 a.m. with Rusty Day judging the event.

On Wednesday from 1-5 p.m. all lambs, goats and barrows will be weighed in. Barrows and lambs will be classified as they are weighed. Rabbits will be weighed at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. James Berry will be judging the entries at the rabbit show.

On Thursday at 8 a.m. the goat show will begin followed by the lamb and barrow shows. Robert Scott will be judging the goat and lamb show while Kyle Stephens will be judging the barrow show.

The premium sale will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The members of the Parmer County Stock Show Board Advisory Committee are:

Bovina: Dr. Brett Whitten; Farwell: Steve Schilling and Kyle Stancell; Friona: Darrin Gilley and Mark Osborn; and Lazbuddie: Ed Terry and Rick Seaton.

Members of the Stock Show Board are:

Bovina: Izzie Carrasco and Steve Cockerham; Farwell: Sid Morris, Keith Hadley, james Graves, Carey Stancell and Benji Henderson; Friona: Darren Gilley, Tracy Bunker, Brian Reed, Monty Schueler and Catie Parrish; Labuddie: Daniel Schacher, Mark Edens, Clint Hurst and Todd McDaniel; and County 4-H: Chris Timms, Darren Haseloff, Vince Smith and Ben Osborn.

Officers are: Mack Heald, General Superintendent; Andy Carthel, General Assistant Superintendent; Lesley Curtis, Swine Superintendent; Shane Mason, Lamb and Goat Superintendent; Terry Jesko, Beef Superintendent; Benji Henderson, Rabbit Superintendent; Greg O’Brian, President; Wade Schueler, Vice President; Kelly Patrick, Secretary; and John Jarecki and Dale Schueler, Treasurer.
