Doris Jamison

Doris Jamison, 81, of Friona, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Friona. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Lazbuddie Cemetery in Lazbuddie with Jeff Procter, minister of the 6th St. Church of Christ of Friona, officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Doris was born July 5, 1935 in Crown Point, Indiana to Harry and Bertha Kulms Marrett. She was a security guard for Cargill Meat Solutions. She loved bingo, crossword puzzles, coffee and TV crime shows.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Clifton Eric Brown.

She is survived by six daughters, Kathleen Jones and Elizabeth Winters of Chicago, Cindy Miller of Dallas, Nancy Pierce of Clovis, Sandra Gomez of Indiana, and Tammi Brito of Friona; three sons, James Barnes of Missouri, Phillip Barnes of Ropesville, and Toby Brito of Friona; two brothers, Victor Marrett and Vernon Marrett of Ropesville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Sharla Ruth Cruz

Sharla Ruth Cruz, 50, of Bovina, died Saturday, March 25, 2017. Celebration of Life services were held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Bovina with Rev. Brian Mullins, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Bovina Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Sharla was born in Friona to David Dean Wines and Pauline Taylor Dutton. She married Davit Cruz, May 11, 1985 in Friona.

Sharla loved living life on the edge and was a thrill seeker that loved 4-wheeling and jet skiing, and being outdoors. But, her greatest love was for her family. She also was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bovina.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Davit; two daughters, Destiny Cruz and D’Laney Cruz, all of Bovina; one son, Joseph Cruz and Debra Heins of Canyon; one sister, Stephanie Marshall and Adrian Marquez of Clovis; two nephews, Sean Lindley and wife Sierra, and Chance Marshall; and a great-niece, Sienna Lindley.

David Morales

David Morales went to be with his Maker, March 19, 2017. David was born December 21, 1959 to Jessie and Janie Morales. David was a 1978 graduate of Friona High School. He attended TSTI in Amarillo for 18 months majoring in mechanics and graduated as a member of the president’s honor roll. PFC Morales served in the Army at Fort Jackson, SC and was Honorably Discharged after a year of service. David worked several years for a furniture liquidation company along with his wife, MaryAnn, and resided in Tarpon Springs, FL.

David is preceeded in death by his grandparents Concho and Rosalia Morales of Roscoe, TX, Adilon and Rosa Ramirez of Friona, TX, and Fred Garza, Sr. of Alice, TX.

David is survived by his parents, Jessie and Janie Morales of Friona, TX; wife, MaryAnn Lanni Morales of Tarpon Springs, FL; daughters, D’Wann Robinson and husband Bennie of Garland,TX, Natasha Morales of Mansfield,TX, Lacie Johnson and husband Joe of Arlington, TX; and 10 grandkids. He is also survived by his siblings a sister, Terry Morales of Friona, TX, sister Rachel Martinez and husband Phil Martinez of Friona, TX, and a brother, Jessie Morales, Jr. of Amarillo, TX. David is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
