Chris and the Chamber want to thank the Friona Volunteer Fire Department for shooting off the fireworks Tuesday evening. It was touch and go as to whether they would get to when the early evening storm raged through town. Once the storm died down, the firemen were able to set up and deliver a beautiful display for the community. Thank you to everyone that donated to provide the display.

Speaking of storms…the storm Tuesday evening was just one of the storms that have blown into town the last few days. Trees seem to have gotten the brunt of the hard winds. A number of trees in town were blown down and others were trimmed by the wind.

There was even the report of a trampoline becoming airborne during Tuesday’s storm. No one was hurt.
