Larry Dopp

Larry Dopp, 70 of Bovina passed away April 26, 2019 in Bovina. Viewing was held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Family visitation was held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2019 at the 6th St. Church of Christ in Friona with Jeff Procter, minister and Wesley Roach, officiating. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Larry was born May 6, 1948 in Matador to Isaac Leonard and Daisy Ellen Waller Dopp. Later he married Linda Louis Hukill June 23, 1968 in the home of Linda’s parents outside of Clovis.

He was an area farmer for many years then moved full time into his skill of construction and carpentry. In both careers, he loved his work. When he could, he loved to fish and go to the mountains.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother-Johnny Lee Dopp.

Those to carry on his legacy include- his wife of Bovina, 2 sons-Johnny Dopp of Dimmitt, Christopher Dopp of Bovina, 2 daughters-Michelle Cogburn and husband Shane of Amarillo, and Alexandria Roach and husband Wesley of Melrose, N.M., 12 grandchildren- Jaclyn, Kaley, Elizabeth, Devin, Rose, Katelyn, Tiffany, Aidan, Kimberly, Trevor, Colby and Bella, 3 great-grandchildren-Adele, Phineas and James.

Pedro “Doe” Marrufo

Pedro “Doe” Marrufo, 39, of Bovina passed away April 23, 2019 in Bovina. Rosary Services were held 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Mass of Christian Burial Services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Tony Neusch of Hereford as Celebrant. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Pedro was born in Friona to Jose Isabel Marrufo and Victoria Romero Amaya. He was a 1998 graduate of Bovina High School and loved to be at all sporting events especially those involving his family and the Bovina Mustangs. He lived most of his life in Bovina with the exception of living a few years in Colorado.

Pedro loved music, gaming and online shopping. He is considered the heart and soul of his family. He would move the world for his nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather- Pedro Marrufo, grandmother-Tomasa Ibanez, grandmother-Florencia Amaya-Arreolla, and uncles-Antonio Romero and Gregorio Romero.

Those to carry on his legacy include his parents of Bovina, 4 brothers- Izzy Marrufo and wife Charlotte and Melecio Marrufo and wife Mary Jane, all of Bovina, Cruz Marrufo and wife Adela of Corpus Christi, Daniel Marrufo and wife Alma of Brush, CO. 1 sister-Elia Marrufo and husband Jesse of Amarillo, grandfather-Santiago Romero of Henderson, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
