In last week’s paper, there was an article on the First Annual Aaron Tate BBQ Bash. In that story was a listing of the BBQ cooking teams that participated in the event. The team of Mark Galan and Debbie Gill should have been included in that list. The Vocational Agriculture Association thanks Mark and Debbie for their participation and apologizes for the oversight.

The Chamber of Commerce would like to know if anyone is interested in bringing the “bed racing” event back for Maize Days. Your two cents would be appreciated.

Labor Day Weekend Picnic and Parish Fund –Raiser will be September 2nd 2018, at the Nazareth community hall and surrounding area .The event will kick off with a parade at 10:00 a.m. and will have all day events finishing at 8:00 p.m. All proceeds from the day will benefit Holy Family Catholic Church. Nazareth is 18 miles west of Interstate 27 on Route 86, where it intersect with Farm to market 168.

Members of the Retired Teachers Association will have a Fiesta pile-on luncheon on September 4th at 12:00 noon at the Wells residency, approximately 2.5 miles north of Friona on Highway 214. School administrators will be the guests.
