Curt Miller, Executive Director of the Parmer County Farm Service Agency has retired after 28 years of service. He plans on working with his younger son Caleb on construction projects in and around the Lubbock area. Curt’s wife Kathi is Friona Elementary school teacher.

The Friona Pioneer Heritage Society has purchased the Parmer County American Legion Post 208 building in Friona. The Heritage Society was needing space to expand the museum in Friona. The Legion will still use the building to conduct its meetings.

The Friends of the Library Book Shoppe will be closed for the New Year’s holiday. Customers are welcome to call 265-5811 to schedule an appointment to visit the book shop during this time. Regular hours, Wednesday afternoons 3:00 until 5:30, will resume on January 8, 2020. The book shop is located at 119 West 6th, and good quality used books sell for one dollar a bag. All proceeds benefit Friends of the Library projects.
