Morton wins with 10 correct

Week 6 of the Friona Star Football Contest had more twists and turns than Lombard Street in San Francisco. Iowa Park snuck up on Dalhart and won 28-26. Auburn had a hard time with Mississippi State losing 38-23. Chicago and Dallas overcame deficits to emerge winners while Carolina and Cincinnati had matching field goals to end the game in a tie, 37-37.

Joy Morton and Tim Elmore navigated the curves to come out at top this week with 10 correct picks. Morton won out in the end by guessing closest on the TCU/Baylor final score.

Twelve contestants tied with nine correct picks. They were: Andy Alexander, Sandra Berend, Jessica Dearing, Eric Geske, John Haile, Rusty McFarland, Mal Manchee, Tenna Montana, Tyson Neill, Axel Puga, Haden Smiley and Kayla Smiley.

Rusty McFarland leads the pack with a total score of 62. Brandon Berend and Mack McFarland are close behind with scores of 60.

There are six more chances to get in on the money.
