Rehearsals are underway for the high school musical, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Public performances are set for Saturday November 8 at 7:00 p.m. and Monday November 10 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $4 adults and $2 students. The play is directed by new speech and drama teacher and 2002 FHS graduate Katherine Thompson.

Big Chieftain Edgar Guerrero slams a Littlefield Wildcat with a bear hug tackle in first quarter action. In the second quarter Edgar left the game with a dislocated shoulder. Coach Prokop said Edgar should be back in the lineup for Childress. Friona and Childress will be playing for 3rd and 4th seed in bi-district Friday November 7 at Childress. If Friona wins they play Brownfield Thursday November 13 at Dick Bivins in Amarillo. If they lose they play Shallowater Thursday November 13 in Plainview.

The workers putting a new peaked roof on Bi-Wize had a cold breezy start to their day Tuesday. It was cold and windy with temps early near freezing. Looks like fall is falling into winter.

DPS bullying presentations

Adrian Munoz ran 61 yards for a 2nd quarter TD. Big 6.0', 295 lb lineman Edgar Guerrero lined up at running back on 4th and goal and powered over River Road to score in the 4th quarter. Senior lineman John David Haile broke through and scooped up a bad River Road snap and raced 40 yards for another 4th quarter TD as the Chiefs beat the Road 21-7. (more...)

Wildcats beat the Chiefs 34-0

The Littlefield Wildcats came to Chieftain Field last Friday and left several Chieftains bruised and battered as they won the district match 34-0. The win sets up a battle for the district championship this week between Muleshoe and Littlefield, both 4-0 in district.(more...)

Squaws lose to Lady Eagles

The Friona Squaws varsity volleyball team closed out their season Tuesday night with a hard fought five game bi-district loss to the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles at Canyon High School.

In game one the Squaws struggled with their passing but still had leads throughout the game. They had game point but could not pull off the win and lost 25-27. (more...)
