Squaws lose to Lady Eagles

From Coach Bryan Masse

The Friona Squaws varsity volleyball team closed out their season Tuesday night with a hard fought five game bi-district loss to the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles at Canyon High School.

In game one the Squaws struggled with their passing but still had leads throughout the game. They had game point but could not pull off the win and lost 25-27.

In game two they came back with better passing and won 25-17. In game three the Squaws made too many mistakes and the Lady Eagles took advantage of them to win 19-25. Game four looked bleak for the Squaws as they dug themselves into a hole. The ladies showed great courage in their comeback to win 25-20.

In game five a slow start put the Squaws behind the eight ball but they kept fighting till the end but the Lady Eagles prevailed 15-12.

The Squaws finished the season as district runner-up with a 24-15 record. The Squaws and coaches would like to thank their fans for all the support they gave us. The cheering section was awesome.
