The Landon Wiseman Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, August 26 at the Farwell Country Club. This is a four-man scramble and only 18 teams will be entered. The cost per team is $400. For more information or to sign up, call the Farwell Country Club at (806) 481-9210.

The FHS varsity volleyball team will take on the Alumni on Friday, August 4 at 6 p.m. at the FHS gym. Preceding the match the junior varsity and C team will scrimmage at 5 p.m. This event is free to the public.

Congratulations to Jose Flores for receiving his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He was among 195 students that completed requirements for either associate, bachelor’s or master’s degrees this summer on the Weatherford and Sayre campus locations.

According to Friona’s official weatherman John Gurley, Friona received 2.54” of rain Sunday evening and Monday morning. That brings the rain total to 3.48” for July.

REMINDER: Friona ISD 6th-10th Graders & Parents: Checkouts: Saturday, August 12, at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the High School Cafeteria. Parents must attend checkouts with student, and can attend without student if the student has 2-a-days or band. ***Please remember that if you bring a check to pay for insurance, it cannot be deposited until September 1. New students must be registered to attend school before checking out an iPad.
